2018 CALENDAR RELEASED

We have been working hard of recent weeks to put together the 2018 Nationals Sports Sedan Series. We are now pleased to be able to provide an update. The calendar as we see it is below. To achieve the dates has been very difficult, we have juggled between the NSW and Victorian dates, the Shannons National dates and at one stage AASA national events were in the mix as well. We still have a little bit of work to do but we are close. We are pleased to announce we will be joining the Shannons Nationals again for two rounds including the first ever round at the brand new Tailem Bend circuit in South Australia. We are also pleased to be a part of the Muscle Car Masters event at Sydney Motorsport Park again.

To register for the 2018 National Series for the full five round series a fee of $1,000 + GST will be due before Round 1. Series Entrants will be recognised as running in the National Series and be eligible for National Series Points and full membership entitles you to any dividend of profit at end of year. We did this a few years ago with success as many would remember.

Round entry costs will be $550 + GST per round. We will invoice you per round and cover the round costs with the event promotors at both State and National level.

For those wanting to register for one off National Rounds a fee of $100 per round will be charged. This will give entrants National Series status and points for their nominated round (this does not include dividends of profit, only full membership does).

The reason for these fees is due to the costs of some of the high profile round we intend on doing. The Shannons Nationals rounds are expensive especially the Tailem Bed round. There are huge benefits with doing these high profile rounds, so we can wear the costs. These high cost rounds mixed with the lower cost state round does balance things out slightly. Next year will still be more expensive however.

Realistically we need 15 members to sign up and pay the $1,000 Series Registration fee. The more we have commit to the Series, and promote it, the more chance of a great profit at the end of the year to divide!

The plan is to continue our arrangement with Hankook Tyres as this will continue to be Sports Sedans Pty Ltd’s major financial income. We understand there some push back with the current Hankook compound, we are talking to Gary about other options, and I will have more on that as soon as we know more. All National Series Entrants must run the control Hankook tyre (there is an exception for those whose tyre size Hankook do not make a tyre for and for those doing both State and National Series at only one their home state combined rounds to use state sponsor tyre if applicable.) The 2018 National Sports Sedan Series will be contested over five rounds

Once we have officially finalised all plans we will announce and distribute Series registration forms. We will also open up entries for the opening round at Tailem Bend.
